*takes deep breath*

it took us a while... but we have made it

The final outcome has been created and is being circulated around Spherical Chicken members for alpha testing. I have received some feedbacks and is working out on those bugs.

Everything is fixed now and is ready for submission. Only challenge is, to create a Macintosh version. We want to try to execute a dual OS version of our software. Is it possible? We will soon find out.

background attemps

attemp no 1: background

this is my first attemp for the background. i created the effect using photoshop and the background with a microship picture. my group mates didn't like it so i gotto change it.

attemp no2: background

the second background that i've design is a lil complicated, thus it is rejected.

ben did the border and i added the buttons. as u can see the buttons are in a capsule form which doesnt really fit into the rectangular border. so i changed it.

i added the pic on the right as the background for the interface background >.<

tadaa~~! this is the final outcome. i've change the background and the buttons. looks much pleasant now, right? ------>>>

the on/off and exit icon is added on the bottom right. thats all for now.... =)

Interface proposal visualisation - minimalism

the three buttonlike things on top are buttons and the only working page is nasi lemak. the red dot on the nasi lemak is interactive.

the goal here was minimalism. in order to not complicate progress which is already quite far behind schedule, i suggested something not too complicated. but Jason prefers something thats not such a "straight interface". I have yet to find out what that means. tomorows discussion will revolve around the final design of the interface.

I also have no idea what the posts below mine are supposed to be showing. The one made by michelle looks good but I've no idea for which part of the application it is going to be for. Thus, i have no idea how to fix what she wants me to do. Decisions still have to be made in tomorrows meeting.

Comparison between the two

As the director of the application, my task has yet to come. I have already prepared all the necessary lingo for out interactivity and its interactions. I am just waiting to compile everything Here I have compiled our team's two designer's (michelle & ben) proposal for the background image:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Feel free to click and view the larger version and add some comments. We will be voting amongst ourselves soon and decide upon the best layout. For now, let us ignore the color combination and just focus on the design. It is the more crucial part at this stage of our authoring process. Will be back with more updates.. stay tuned.

Jason.

Digital Interface

this is my design for the digital interface. everyone has to come up with 1 design and layout, and here is mine. it looks a lil empty though, as i still have to edit it.

i've sent this to jason, and he thinks the text should be change . he thinks that it's too ugly. currently i've got no futuristic looking type of font, so i decided to temporary used the star wars font first, and it turn out really bad!!!!! >.<

i was hoping to creating borders around it so it wont look so empty but i could not do so. i think i really have to brush up my skill on adobe illustrator. for the time being, i need serious help from benjamin to make and add in a thick and bold border so that it will look more proper and presentable. right now its not even completed!!! i created a small jpg using adobe photoshop on how i want my final design to look like. and this is what i did.

this is what i expected. gosh there are so many improvements to be made.

My intro

Here you see my intro. I opted for a banner sized design for watchability. Please advise on color scheme.

This is a draft made in flash. Don't worry. No .swf files will be in final product.
Its in flash to ease viewing in web.

week 3 - digital design

week 3 pass so fast. hardly did anything for media authoring. i have done a few design in photoshop for our background and it didnt turn out as how i wanted it to be.

on the left is the screen capture on how i did the final effect( pic at the bottom). wanted to make it look futuristic but i guess this really suck big time. havent have approval frm my groupmates though. i think i will come out with more of it, and then we will decide on 1 final one. that's all for now.

ciao,
mC

Design Changes

I took the liberty to change the design of the blog a bit. The template has changed to something more clean, the title now has a spherical chicken in it and to the right you can see links to our respective food research item on Wikipedia. Ah~ the world is full of good
